This privacy notice applies to all information collected through our mobile application, SXPlayer, and any related services.

A. Information Automatically Collected

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the application. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information.

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to track app performance and usage. The data collected includes:

• Device Information: Device manufacturer, model, and OS version (Android).
• Usage Data: Which screens and tabs you visit, your search queries within the app, and specific in-app settings you toggle.
• Media Usage Logging: To understand how our app is used, we log the names of folders you open, the titles of media files you select or play, and standard player actions (e.g., play, pause, resume).

B. App Permissions

To function properly, SXPlayer requests certain permissions on your Android device:

• Media & Storage Permissions (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_AUDIO): We require these permissions to scan your device's local storage and display your videos and audio files within the app.
• All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): On Android 11 and above, standard media permissions cannot access hidden folders (e.g., directories starting with a . or containing .nomedia files). We only request "All Files Access" if you explicitly enable the "Show Hidden Folders" feature in our app settings. This permission is strictly used to scan for and display media files within hidden directories locally on your device. We do not use this permission to modify, delete (without your explicit consent), or transmit any of your personal files off your device.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to display ongoing playback controls in your notification drawer while media is playing in the background.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected via Firebase Analytics to:

• Identify and fix crashes or bugs.
• Understand which features (like specific media formats or folders) are most popular so we can improve the app experience.
• Analyze user engagement and navigation flow.

The media files accessed via storage permissions are processed locally on your device to enable video and audio playback.

3. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?

We only share information with the following third parties:

• Google Analytics for Firebase: Used for tracking application usage and diagnostics. You can read the Firebase Privacy Policy here: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

We do not sell, rent, or trade any of your information with third parties for promotional purposes.

4. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law. Analytics data managed by Firebase is subject to Google's data retention policies.

5. Security of Your Information

We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security.

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the app, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the app.
